Robertson Teaches Rosewell Children Lesson in Housebuilding
Pupils at Rosewell Primary School learnt about how new homes are built and the different career opportunities in construction during a visit to Robertson Homes’ St Margarets development in Rosslynlee, Midlothian.
We are building 117 energy efficient luxury four, five and six-bedroom homes at St Margarets, centered around the conversion of St. Margaret's Hospital, and situated just seven miles south of Edinburgh city centre.
We invited Rosewell Primary School’s 10 and 11-year-old P6 pupils to the development on Firth Road, where they spent the day learning about the process of building modern new homes and finding out about the different types of jobs people can do in the housebuilding and construction industry.
The children also spent time touring our multi award-winning six-bedroom Stewart Garden Room and five-bedroom Nasmyth Garden Room show homes to see the finished homes in all their glory.
Shona Richardson head teacher at Rosewell Primary School, said: “Thank you to Robertson Homes for inviting us to visit and for giving our children an enjoyable and informative experience in a way they could easily understand.
“The children now have knowledge of how the homes they live in are built and some of the jobs they may be interested in as they get older.”
Sharon Spinelli, sales and marketing director at Robertson Homes, said: “The children from Rosewell Primary School are lucky to be growing up in such a beautiful location, with stunning countryside on their doorsteps and we wanted to ensure they had the opportunity to learn about how modern, energy efficient and sustainable homes are being constructed in their communities.
“As well as construction, the children learnt about sales and marketing, giving them knowledge of the whole process of building and buying homes.”
